Restaurant and Bar “Alus Ordenis” (Black Cat Beer Order) offers its guests quite tasty food, cozy medieval atmosphere and an opportunity to taste some of the original options of the Latvian national food menu. Have a try of potato pancakes, beans, gray peas, sour cabbage soup, herring with cottage cheese and sour cream, fried or boiled potatoes with the chops, pig, bull balls in cream sauce, blood sausage and other great dishes. The restaurant has got plenty of space, with oner 50 seats that should be enough for all visitors.

Food is country-style with many hearty treats such as steak and potatoes, and your choice of gravy just like grandma used to make. The restaurant is located in the building that was erected on the ancient foundations of the Riga fortification, hence the interior is very genuine – stoney walls, clay pots, antique clock and ceramic beer mugs.

On Wednesdays there is a so-called short Saturday with live music events in the basement. Enjoy the original Latvian been and a national cuisine in medieval atmosphere for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick beer. Located by the German embassy.
