Von Krahl is a place that consists of a bar, restaurant and cultural events place. Here you can listen to alternative music and meet interesting people. Every weekend there is a live band on stage. Friendly service and good food for small prices. Also Von Krahli has a theatre and an academy.

In the 1992 von Krahl became the first private own theatre in Tallinn. Now its well known as a center of Estonian avant-garde culture and independent music, which is really mixed in Tallinn, people are open to many different types of music and in von Krahl you get rock and heavy music gigs, the oldest reggae and hip hop parties like Bashment and Check One Two, house/electro sessions of Mutant Disco nights and many others. Probably the first gig at von Krahl is like a ritual of initiation to alternative music scene in Estonia to any of young local instrumental bands.

On the second floor there is a theatre, which is one of our favourites, even though we are not big friends of theatres. But this one is great, as one as most of their performances entertain me naturally and don’t spoil my evenings with too much of pretension and pathetic “deepness”. Sometimes on Saturdays they hold the second hand market of old vinyls and records, then its time to search for some rarities and have a friendly chat with fellas around.

And yeah, this place has lovely open terrace, cheap bar, good food and democratic atmosphere, so take your necktie off before you enter.
